- www.eidq.org - Site of the Association for the European Interworking of Directory Enquiry Services.
The "Association for the European Interworking of Directory Inquiry Services" (EIDQ Association), was launched in 1999 to create anappropriate organisation for the rapidly changing market and business environment.
Currently, the Association has 29 member organisations which are engaged in national and international DA/DQ services. The objective of the association is to encourage, facilitate and support its members in the development and provision of comprehensive, high quality directory inquiry services (DA/ED) through interworking.
The Association is focussed on customers in Europe, either as end users of the services or as entries in the databases. Full members of EIDQ have to be actively involved in directory services, are offering Directory Assistance or Electronic Directory services in one or more European countries on a commercial basis, providing data for such services or access to data to end users and/or clients in any part of the world.

ICSTIS, the Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services, is the industry-funded regulatory body for all premium rate charged telecommunications services.
They are non-profit making and consist of nine part-time Committee members, supported by a full time Secretariat. They regulate the content and promotion of services through their Code of Practice. They investigate complaints and have the power to fine companies and bar access to services. In addition, they offer free copy advice and guidance to both existing and new service providers.

- to consult with, and represent grassroots members, to circulate, publish and disseminate their views, and where appropriate to respond to consultation on their behalf
- to identify and promote the interests of consumers, with reference to the key guiding principles of Access to goods and services, Choice, Information, Representation, Fairness, Safety and Redress and to provide a channel for consumer opinion and representation and assist members to put forward their views locally and nationally
- to increase the awareness of consumers to those issues that affect them and to provide means of communication with government, industry, the regulators and other interested parties
- to encourage and support members and member organisations to work together better and to promote their activities locally and nationally and to provide consumer information and education.

- Promoting the interests of consumers.
- Maintaining and promoting effective competition.
- Making sure that telecommunications services are provided in the UK to meet all reasonable demands, including:
- emergency services;
- public call boxes;
- directory information; and
- services in rural areas.
